Online Dating Tips

By Peter Maughan Finding your soul mate online is a wondrous thing however, there is the potential for danger. While you have access to a wide variety of people, you also have the impending complication of meeting those who are not what they seem to be–there are some tips of the trade, though, to help you become more discerning with your choices. These tips can help you stay safe and stay away from men and women who are not what you’re looking for. Tip One: Start Slowly. There are all kinds of people on the Love Empire not all of these people, however, will be right for you. Take your time–if you meet someone and start up a conversation, proceed with discretion. The person at the other end may not be who they claim to be take your time and watch for inconsistencies or odd behavior. If something bothers you, simply walk away. Do not rush into any relationship without thinking first. Tip Two: Protect Your Identity. One of the benefits of dating online is that you can get to know someone based solely upon their personality and not deal with the more social conscious real world. It is up to you to decide when and how you reveal who you really are–be careful, however. If someone receives your personal information, they could use it against you. If a member tries to pressure you into giving out your last name, email address, home address, phone number, place of work or any other identifying information, then walk away. Tip Three: Use Common Sense. When speaking to someone through the Love Empire, do not throw good judgment away simply because this is an online service. What may sound wonderful on the screen can be masking something not so wonderful in reality. Use caution and do not fall in love with the first profile you read. Take your time and go through all of your potential choices. Then, after you’ve researched enough, go from there. It is a common occurrence for people to fall in love? after only one conversation. Do not do this! Retain your common sense and view online dating as you view real-world dating. You do not have to love every profile you read. Tip Four: Request A Photo. If you meet someone, chat with them, and see the beginning of a relationship forming, then you might want to request a photo. Often, this can tell you more about the person than any email or instant message. First of all, it can keep them from lying about their looks secondly, you will know if you’re attracted to them in the physical sense finally, if they continually refuse to send a photo, there might be a reason other than embarrassment. Proceed carefully. Tip Five: Pay Attention. This is, possibly, the most important tip you could follow. In an email, any one can sound wonderful–in real life, it’s much more difficult. When you are becoming involved with someone on the Love Empire, watch for red flags’, or odd behavior. For example, if during an online session, your date suddenly becomes angry or aggressive toward you and then, won’t explain why, you should take this into consideration. If one sentence could upset him/her in such a way, it might be cause to worry. Also, pay attention to any attempts to pressure or control you. For instance, if your date is constantly making demeaning comments about you, there is a strong chance that he/she is trying to manipulate you into feeling inferior therefore, you become an easier target to control. Finally, watch out for inconsistencies with information that your date provides you or evasive answers to questions. If your date displays any of the following problems, it would be well-advised to reconsider your relationship: 1. He/she provides inconsistent information about age, interests, appearance, marital status, profession, employment, etc. 2. He/she refuses to speak to you on the phone after you have established an 3. online relationship or, he/she will only speak on a strangely specific 4. timeframe. 5. He/she will not answer any direct questions about themselves. They will 6. either give you a vague answer or will simply turn the question back to you. 7. He/she will only provide photos of large groups of people, making it 8. impossible for you to find them. Online dating can be an exciting and fulfilling part of your life just remember to follow these tips and act accordingly. www.lookingforlove.20m.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Peter_Maughan http://EzineArticles.com/?Online-Dating-Tips&id=371761 payday installment loan cash secured commercial loan hialeah bad credit bankruptcy car loan riverside hard money lender

Aloe Vera

By Jacob Wood Native to Africa, Aloe Vera is also known as “lily of the desert”, the “plant of immortality”, and the “medicine plant”. The name was derived from the Arabic alloeh meaning “bitter” because of the bitter liquid found in the leaves. Recorded use of Aloe Vera in treating burns, infections and parasites goes back as far as the Egyptians in about 1500 B.C. There are over 500 species of aloe growing worldwide. Ancient Greeks, Arabs and Spaniards have used the plant throughout the millennia. African hunters still rub the gel on their bodies as a deodorant/anti-perspirant. Advance Research of Aloe Vera Extensive research since the 1930′s has shown the clear gel produces dramatic benefits by putting up a protective layer over affected areas, speeding up the healing rate. The root of the aloe plant has also been used as a treatment for colic. As a food supplement, Aloe Vera is said to facilitate digestion, aid in blood and lymphatic circulation, and enhance the function of the liver, kidneys and gall bladder. Liquid health treatments using Aloe Vera and other herbs have proven beneficial for the relief of colitis and peptic ulcers. The oral administration of an extract of Aloe Vera for 6 months produced good results in the treatment of asthma. The exception was the fact that the extract was not effective in patients dependent on corticosteroids. The results of experimental studies in rats and mice suggest that Aloe Vera may be effective, both topically and internally, in the treatment of diabetic leg ulcers, as well as exhibiting blood sugar-lowering effect in both normal and chemical induced diabetic mice. Aloe Vera has shown great promise as an anti-bacterial and anti-viral substance. Acemannan, present in Aloe Vera , has shown encouraging results in the early treatment of the AIDS virus. Uses of Aloe Vera Aloe Vera is used today for the treatment the same conditions it has traditionally been used for. Those conditions include constipation as well as minor cuts and burns. In India, Aloe Vera was also used as a remedy for intestinal infections and suppressed menses.Aloe Vera is remedy for; Wounds, Ulcers, Burns, Asthma, Diabetes. Aloe Vera Include: The aloe vera plant is about 96% water. The rest of it contains active ingredients, such as essential oil, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, enzymes and glycoproteins. The constituents that produce the cathartic laxative effects of aloe latex are known as anthraquinone glycosides. Aloe Vera contains at least three anti-inflammatory fatty acids that are helpful for the stomach, small intestine and colon. Aloe Vera naturally alkalizes digestive juices to prevent over acidity – a common cause of indigestion. Acemannan is a newly discovered compound in aloe vera, which is being studied for its ability to strengthen the body’s natural resistance. Results have indicated acemannan can boost the immune system. Revenge – Serve It Cold!

By Sharon Jacobsen Whether you caught him in bed with the local bimbo, dumped him for being an uncaring twat or he’s run off with a woman he met online, you’re probably feeling angry, resentful and wanting revenge. Revenge may be sweet but before you dive in head first, ready to present Mr Up-For-Mongrel-Of-The-Year 2004 award with his well earned payback, take some time to consider the sour taste that humiliation, physical injury and a criminal record might leave. There’s nothing unusual about wanting to trash his beloved car, throw a brick through his window or lace his food with a laxative but there are other ways to go about things that are far less likely to bounce back and hurt you. Believe it or not, the best thing somebody seeking revenge can do is to get on with the lives and be happy. Think about it – as long as you’re giving him enough brain space to be plotting all sorts of revenge plans, he’s still winning; still controlling your thoughts and actions. Is he really worth it? Whether he left you for somebody else or you kicked him out, he’ll still want to believe that you’re missing him. After all, if you’re not, that means you didn’t really need him during the time you were together, doesn’t it? Imagine what he’d feel, knowing that you’re having the time of your life and that if anything, either his leaving actually did you a favour or that you must have been batty not to have wanted rid of him earlier. You won’t be breaking any laws; you won’t be landing anybody in hospital and your own sense of pride will remain intact, but when it comes to his self-esteem, boy will it get a knock! But what if I’m not having a ball? Good question. Let’s just say that you don’t need to be a leading figure in your local Amateur Dramatics group to be able to give the right impression to those you need to enlist as unwitting aids. Next time you’re talking to somebody that knows him, make sure you mention the new guy you’ve just met and how much fun you’ve been having together. Yes, even if you haven’t met anybody and aren’t particularly having fun because this is all about having him believe he was easily replaced. Or, if that doesn’t feel comfortable, let them know how life as a singleton came as a breath of fresh air enabling you to pursue all sorts of new avenues instead of sitting at home with him, eating crisps and watching the telly. Believe me, word will soon get back to him and unless he’s the caring type who wouldn’t wish any hurt on you, he won’t like it. Supposing he IS the caring type? Ok, let’s say he is but you don’t care for what he did to you and still want revenge. What now? Hit him below the belt, that’s what. No, I don’t mean put your steel toed Doc Martin’s on and point them at his groin, I’m talking about sex. We all know how important it is for men to believe they’re ‘performers’ and if there’s one thing that’ll hurt more than anything else, it’s having people question his abilities in the bedroom. Don’t rush out spreading rumours. though it’s important you go about it the right way. Telling every Tom, Dick or Harry that he’s a closet cross-dresser or that he’s had all sorts of sexually transmitted diseases isn’t the way forward. Everybody knows that the woman scorned will be feeling bitter and will quickly guess that you’re looking for revenge and what’s more, they’ll probably end up laughing at you for being so petty. Trust me, you really don’t want that kind of humiliation on top of what you’re already feeling. What you need to do is keep it low key. Wait until somebody asks “Do you miss sex now that you’re alone?” or something similar and just shrug and give them one of those “why would I miss something that’s crap?” kind of looks accompanied by a nonchalant “not really”. That kind of thing’s far more credible simply because it doesn’t appear as if you’re deliberately being malicious. Everybody loves a scrap of juicy gossip and if sex is involved, it’ll spread amongst his friends and acquaintances quicker than you could get your stockings off. Whatever you decide to do, don’t do it while anger’s still governing your actions. Breaking into his flat to leave prawns rotting under the fridge may seem like a good idea at the time but will it seem so good when the little old lady opposite tells the police that she saw you climb in through the window? Keying his car may seem like a simple, effective revenge tactic but do you really want to get landed with the bill if you’re caught? And before you march into his favourite watering hole to pour beer over his head, stop and think about how humiliated you’ll feel when people start thinking “I’m not surprised he left her she’s barmy”. And please, please, please don’t stalk! When anonymous emails/text messages etc start arriving everybody will know who’s behind them and you’ll be the victim of ridicule. Wait, get on with your life and see how you feel about it later. You’ll probably be glad you played safe. All in all, just going about your business and enjoying life is the best form of revenge you could ever inflict on him and what’s really great about it is that you’ll be getting on with your own life, meeting new people, learning new skills and having a ball whilst you’re at it. What could be better? ~~+~~+~~ About The Author Sharon Jacobsen is a freelance writer originally from East London but now living in South Cheshire, England, with her partner, however many of her three children happen to be living at home at any given time, and the family dog. Failing the Bar Exam

By Noah Michaels If you’ve already failed the bar exam, you’re at least in good company. The most notorious of which is probably Kathleen Sullivan, a veritable legal superstar whose failure made national news. Ms. Sullivan’s credentials are a mile long: former Dean of Stanford Law School, former Harvard Law School professor, she has argued in front of the U.S. Supreme Court several times and is widely considered a potential nominee for Supreme Court Justice. Did I mention she wrote the casebook we used in law school? But the illustrious company we repeat-takers keep is by no means limited to Ms. Sullivan. John F. Kennedy, Jr. failed the New York bar exam twice, the second time earning the headline, “Hunk Flunks” on the front page of the New York Times. Hillary Clinton failed the D.C. bar exam. Former New York City Mayor Ed Koch failed once and former Chicago Mayor Richard Daley failed twice. Charlie Crist, Attorney General and Gubernatorial candidate for Florida, failed the exam twice. Former California Governor Jerry Brown managed to pass on his second attempt, while former Governor Pete Wilson did not pass until his fourth attempt. Mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio R. Villaraigosa, never did pass the bar after failing four exams. The California Bar Exam is one of, if not the most difficult in the nation. California has an exclusionary bar: instead of just screening out people who are incompetent, the exam aims to regulate and limit the number of lawyers in the state. The competition to practice law in California, the seventh largest economy in the world, is fierce. In 2004, only 44% of the 12,448 California bar exam applicants passed and in 2005 only 46% of 12,863 passed. So, what can we learn from these famous people who have failed the bar exam, besides the fact that misery loves company? Actually, their advice is nearly unanimous. Study even harder for the next exam. Studying for the next bar exam? Planning the Vegetable Patch

By Michael Russell Growing vegetables is one of the most rewarding aspects of gardening. Even in a small space it is possible to grow a wide range of nutritious vegetables. A reasonable quantity of vegetables can be produced even in a small to average size garden. Most species can be grown much more closely together than generally indicated if the soil is rich and constantly replenished with organic matter and a good watering regime is maintained. In a larger garden partial self-sufficiency can be achieved across a wide range of vegetables if the garden is efficiently planned and maintained. The most important prerequisite for growing vegetables is an abundance of sunlight. A vegetable garden needs to be located in the most open and sunny part of the garden, away from overhanging trees or shade from buildings. This often means that the vegetable garden has to be centrally sited. Not always an appealing thought but properly maintained there is no reason why a vegetable garden should not be as attractive as an ornamental garden. Ideally the vegetable garden should be within easy access to the kitchen door. A small pathway, lined on either side with herbs, can lead to a bed containing well-mulched rows of vegetables in season. When choosing a site for the vegetable garden, avoid large, well-established trees. Not only will they cast unwanted shadows they will also compete for moisture and nutrients from the soil. Also consider the need of some crops for shelter against prevailing winds. One way of providing this is to plant a hedge of small slow-growing bushes. To get the most from the available space in the vegetable garden, first draw up a garden plan. Factors to be considered when making a plan include companion planting, succession planting and crop rotation. The general rule is to alternate root crops and leaf crops, ensuring that the lower-growing species are placed at the front of the garden, where larger plants will not block sunlight. Group perennial crops such as rhubarb, asparagus and strawberries together in one bed, where they can be mulched easily in the winter. Allow sufficient space between rows to walk, weed and harvest. Remember, however, that if the soil is enriched with plenty of organic matter and kept well watered, then plants can be grown quite close together. Keep in mind that tall-growing crops like sweet corn, climbing beans and tomatoes should be positioned towards the back of the garden. Use graph paper to draw a ground plan for the garden, starting with the spring growth. Record how long each group of plants takes to mature in your particular climate. After several seasons a pattern will emerge. In this day and age there are good reasons for adding a vegetable garden to the general landscape. Increased knowledge about the effects of pesticides and chemical fertilizers on the food chain is a concern to many families. It is possible to supplement the average family diet with home grown vegetables that are not only free from chemicals but also rich in nutrient value due to their freshness. The Power of Ice

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Louise_Roach] Louise Roach Using ice to treat injuries is one of the oldest methods of pain control. Proven to be safe and effective at reducing swelling, relieving pain and decreasing muscle spasms, ice therapy is an easy self-care technique that anyone can administer. Every mother knows to put ice on a bruised knee after a soccer game or on a teething toddlers tender gums. But do you really know how ice works? Cold therapy, also known as cryotherapy, works on the principle of heat exchange. This occurs when you place a cooler object in direct contact with an object of warmer temperature, such as ice against skin. The cooler object will absorb the heat of the warmer object. Why is this important when it comes to cold therapy? After an injury, blood vessels that deliver oxygen and nutrients to cells are damaged. The cells around the injury increase their metabolism in an effort to consume more oxygen. When all of the oxygen is used up, the cells die. Also, the damaged blood vessels cannot remove waste. Blood cells and fluid seep into spaces around the muscle, resulting in swelling and bruising. When ice is applied, it lowers the temperature of the damaged tissue through heat exchange and constricts local blood vessels. This slows metabolism and the consumption of oxygen, therefore reducing the rate of cell damage and decreasing fluid build-up. Ice can also numb nerve endings. This stops the transfer of impulses to the brain that register as pain. Most therapists and doctors advise not to use heat right after an injury, as this will have the opposite effect of ice. Heat increases blood flow and relaxes muscles. Its good for easing tight muscles, but will only increase the pain and swelling of an injury by accelerating metabolism. When it comes to cooling devices, different effects will result due to the devices ability to exchange heat. Crushed ice packs do a better job at cooling the body than chemical or gel packs, because they last longer and are able to draw four times the amount of heat out of tissue. The important difference is that ice packs undergo phase change, allowing them to last longer at an even temperature, creating a more effective treatment. Most chemical or one-time-use packs and gel packs do not undergo phase change. They quickly loose their ability to transfer heat, limiting their effectiveness to reduce swelling. Their short duration of cold is not long enough to produce numbness, also reducing their ability to relieve pain. Cold therapy should always be used as soon as possible after an injury occurs and continued for the following 48 hours at 15 to 20 minute intervals. Remember if you hurt yourself, you need to ice! This information is not intended as a substitute for professional medical treatment or consultation. Always consult with your physician in the event of a serious injury. Juvenile Court System

By Jeff Stats The Houses of Refuge were the first institutions that dealt with juveniles in terms of transforming them and putting them back on the right path in life. These houses were the prototypes of the modern juvenile courts as we know it today in the United States. 1823 was the year when the idea of creation such a construction appeared, that was when the government considered taking charge in cleaning up the city streets from loitering youth and acquainting them with moral principles of the society. In the mid of 1800s special reform schools began opening in the Massachusetts area, this in time led to the formation of a new and separate juvenile system in the US that wasnt known before. These schools not only educated delinquent youth but also set rules for the rest of the society, in case when those rules were not followed it automatically meant that the law was broken. The Crouse case was the formal foundation of the modern juvenile justice system, the government legitimized the notion of the state taking custody over child for the first time. The Juvenile Court Act of 1899 was the first official court of its type in the US that outlined the cases that it could have jurisdiction over and that separated it from the adult courts. From the very creation of the juvenile courts and the ideal model of it to the present time, society has been dealing with a huge gap between this ideal and the reality. Before the 1960s there was no legal rights that juveniles had, thus due processes were introduced and system moved away from the idea of child being somebodys property: either of state or of the parents. After the 1980s and to the present moment the initial idea of protecting children from bad influences and helping to rehabilitate, shifted to a more dramatic and strict system of identifying measure of harm for the society by a specific crime. The “punitive model” now serves for detection of harm level and accordingly assigning punishment for it. Numerous social factors have results in such changes; massive paranoia of increased number of violent crimes, abuse of drugs by the young, mass formation of the gangs. All of that coupled with the failure to accomplish the purpose of juvenile schools as they were intended to, led to the current punitive system that seeks to punish severely. “Mens rea”- guilty mind is not the prerogative of the adult offenders as was supposed in the early history of the American juvenile system; it became an essential part of todays juvenile criminals portrait. There are number of theories that support the idea of an individual making a choice to commit a delinquent act. Those theories are: the choice theory, the deterrence theory- supporting classical school of criminology. On the other side there are biological theories that were based on the positive school. Morphological approach, Lombrozos atavism theory, Sheldons somatotype theory are theories proving the existence of the biological factor in forming of the delinquent individual. They are also influence by the genetic and inherited factors, such as criminals in the family-learning of the young to behave in the same way; delinquent twins are also more likely to both commit a crime than a regular person. Sarnoff Mednicks studies on the adopted children made clear that the highest percentage of delinquent behavior was observed when both environmental and biological factors were combined. Conclusion could be drawn that none on two separate causes can fully be responsible for the amount of juvenile criminals nowadays. Apart from the theories described above, there are numerous theories that study criminal behavior and origins from the point of societal position and economic condition of the individual. Famous Chicago project by McKay and Shaw proved that depending on what part of the city and neighborhood one grew up, a person was influenced accordingly. Thus children from the interstitial zone with cultural heterogeneity and high mobility and poverty were the ones under particularly bad influence that could result in future crimes. Strain theory is another support of the fact that people with unequal opportunities to achieve success in society would most likely commit crime while adopting their lives to the rest of the society. Cloward and Ohlin on the other side argued that juveniles do not just commit crimes if they cannot reach the middle class status by regular means, they claim that illegitimate opportunity structure in certain neighborhoods works as a unique society on its own. It gives opportunity of growth and learning as in educational institution with similar rewards, although on illegal terms. The study of delinquencies and social impact led researches to the realization the social processes are of the great importance when studying the nature of the crimes. Social process theories, learning and social control theories, are dealing with the connection between socialization and delinquencies. Learning theory explains how and why juvenile commit crimes in terms of school and learning. In the process of learning, they get to see and know what it is and how crimes are performed and because of other multiple facts they choose to do it. In contrast, the social control theory states that some people choose a wrong path because they are not tied to any important part of their life such as family, friends, or job. Clearly they have not much to lose and having no bonds with society, they are most likely to commit a crime. With the emergence of innovative technology and social classes inequality people were faced with numerous choices of behavior. Behavior of an individual is formed by multiple factors, outer and inner ones that are very hard to track and can never be studied and evaluated precisely. Therefore the driving forces of the crime are yet not studied well enough and the punishment measures cannot help prevent from future crimes. The gap between the two is ever-growing nowadays. Why Antidepressant Drugs Don’t Work

By Chris Green The reason why people who are suffering from stress, depression or anxiety are prescribed these powerful medications is because of the mistaken belief that chemical imbalances within the brain are at the root cause. This is in fact not true. Chemical imbalances are one of the symptoms of these illnesses. Antidepressants are used to correct these imbalances. Therefore, antidepressant drugs can only address one symptom and as they dont address the root cause, there is a seventy percent chance of relapse once a sufferer ceases taking the medication. Whats even more shocking is that the proof for the existence of chemical imbalances within the brain is minimal. In a recent interview with People Magazine (July 11), the president of the American Psychiatric Association, Dr. Steven Sharstein is quoted as saying We do not have a clean-cut lab test for chemical imbalances. This begs the question: If these imbalances cannot be tested and proven, why on earth are these drugs being prescribed? Clearly, if a sufferer is to find a cure from the pain of these widespread and ever-growing illnesses, a much more effective treatment is needed, specifically, a treatment which treats the root cause of these illnesses. The root cause is due to flawed modes of thinking. This is easily demonstrated. Two people can suffer the same traumatic event in life, death of a loved one for example. One will enter into a major depression, one wont. The only difference between the two people lies in the way they have assigned meaning to the event. This is the reason why not everyone who experiences trauma develops stress, anxiety or depression. The bottom line is that the only way to cure stress, depression or anxiety is to treat the root cause. Antidepressant drugs cannot do this. The only way to beat them is to replace flawed modes of thining with more effective ones which strangle these illnesses once and for all. Any sufferers who are currently taking antidepressant medications should NOT, under any circumstances, stop taking these drugs before first consulting with a competent, qualified medical practitioner who can provide proper advice and supervision.
